Over the course of the summer there has been demolition work done at 1125 SE Westbrooke Drive in Waukee, IA. Previously, the space was leased by Datatron and Access Systems, both of which used it as office space. As these occupants grew and had changing needs, this building was no longer the best fit. Throughout their individual searches for new space, Darin Ferguson was there every step of the way. He was ultimately able to find a new residence for each company that met their respective needs.
1125 SE Westbrooke Drive is located in the heart of Waukee, and being off of SE Alice’s Road there is easy access to Hickman Road and I-80 via Grand Prairie Parkway. Almost immediately following the recent vacancy, Darin has gained heavy attraction on the property due to its prime location and the potential use for the space. Instead of sitting on vacant office space until the next tenant, a warehouse is more desirable and attracts much greater attention. This transformation is something that has become more common as a result of the pandemic.
The interest has come in the desire for industrial space. With 4 drive-in doors, 1 dock, and a central HVAC (gas forced warm air) it is a resourceful choice to convert into a warehouse. Instead of waiting an unknown amount of time for the office space to be leased again, Darin did not hesitate and began to plan out the demolition.
As there was now a plan for 1125, it was time to get to work. The past month has gone into renovations and converting the interior space. The demolition process is expected to be completed around late July, and the finished warehouse to be in use come late August.
